Brandenburger Tor

Pariser Platz and Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor)

Pariser Platz with the Brandenburger Tor is one of the main attractions everybody wants to see. Rebuild after the fall of the Berlin Wall it is no longer a place without buildings nobody is allowed to enter, but place surrounded by modern architecture with roots in the past and the Gate is no longer a symbol of a division but has become a symbol of the united Germany.

Government Quarter

At the government quarter are the buildings used by the german parliament like the Reichstag and the chancellor's office.

Potsdamer Platz

Once the largest construction site in Europe Potsdamer Platz stands for a whole quarter of modern architecture with dominant buildings like the Sony Center and a couple of scyscrapers. Though some people describe the quarter as rather synthetic it is full of life, contains a shopping mall, cafes, cinemas and you can get a wonderful view over Berlin from the top of the Kolhoff building.

Gendarmenmarkt

With the pair of the Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral) and Französischer Dom (French Cathedral) flanking the Konzerthaus Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most beautiful squares in Europe.
