Gendarmenmarkt
Gendarmenmarkt is often called one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. The rather quiet square – at least in comparision to Friedrichstraße nearby with all its shops or compared to Unter den Linden – is dominated by three buildings: The Konzerthaus (concert hall), the Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral) to the left and the Französischr Dom (French Cathedal) to the right. At the center stands a statue of the German poet Friedrich Schiller.
